Facilities and Services
Tax and Duty Free offers a wide range of perfumes, cosmetics, handbags, gifts, sunglasses and other items that are up to 20% cheaper compared to shops in the high street. It is located on the ground floor of the departures lounge, just opposite gate 2. Stobart Airport Shopping is also available at Southend Airport. It sells gifts, perfumes, alcohol, and cosmetics.
Arnold & Forbes cafe is located inside the departures lounge. The cafe offers a variety of snacks and beverages. The Laker’s Bar also found at the airport, situated at the top of the departure lounge stairs. It sells hot and cold drinks, and alcoholic beverages. Coffee Pod, which sells hot drinks and snacks, is also open inside the departures lounge.
Southend Airport has a small bureau de change at the entrance of the airport and ATMS are available in many areas of the terminal building. Free Wi-Fi is also accessible to guests within the airport.
The airport does not offer left-luggage facilities but all items left or found within the passenger terminal and on inbound flights are documented and stored for 3 months. Passengers who left their valuables on board the aircraft (outbound flight) should contact the airlines for more information regarding their luggage. A £5.00 administration fee will be charged upon claiming/collecting the baggage or item. This covers registration, storage and administrative duties.
The airport also provides special services for passengers with less mobility. Visitors who would require special assistance while boarding and disembarking the aircraft are advised to contact their airline or flight provider prior to their scheduled flight. Special Assistance provided at the airport include, wheelchair push and provision, help with baggage, reserved seating throughout the airport, an induction loop and disabled toilets. Requests for special assistance must be made prior to arrival at the airport. Ramps and lifts are also available where where necessary.
London Southend Airport is accessible via rail service from London Liverpool Street, Southend Victoria and Shenfield-Southend line, continuing to Southend Victoria. It can also be reached via car, taxi, bus and coach services.
